Looking back…

A year ago now, we received a very special letter. An offer of almost £10k from the Big Lottery Fund toward our proposed community project that became the Big WELCOME Cafe. Before that, it wasn’t easy to setup a bank account for the Swadlincote Asperger’s Society itself. Yet both the bank and the lottery approved our proposels the first time round.

There have been many ups and downs during the year, but still, their are always many stories to be told from behind the scenes. For example, at the People Express 25th anniversary party (pictured above), it was announced that Kevin Fegan (pictured far right) – the playwright who has taught us a great deal during the project, is now engaged to Julie Batten – the director of People Express, who have supported the group from day one.

With 2016 just around the corner, their are still tales to finish and new ones ready to begin.

So, the Swadlincote Aspeger’s Society would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a very Productive New Year.
