Christmas Wrap Up!

Join the Swadlincote Asperger’s Society for their first Annual General Meeting, followed by a Winter Social.

Join us at The Old Pressing Shop on Thursday 1st December from 3.30pm-5.30pm to learn what the group have been up to in the last year and their plans for the future.

The Winter Social will also be an opportunity to create your very own Linocut Christmas Card with artist Jen Johnson.

NO SESSION ON WEDNESDAY 15TH JULY …BUT WE’LL BE BACK WEDNESDAY 22ND JULY!

There will no session on Wednesday the 15th July as the People Express building is in full use that day.

However, we will be back Wednesday the 22nd July (the week after above) with a special extra long photography session between the time of 12 – 6pm depending on interest.

Meeting at the People Express building in West Street (behind Sharpe’s pottery) in Swadlincote.

Here are the dates for upcoming meetings at the People Express building in Swadlincote High Street at 2pm – 4:30pm…

22nd and 29th April – Filmmaking

6th May – Creative Writing

13th May – Weaving and Basket Making

20th May – Movement and Dance

Meeting topics are subject to change. All sessions will have free hot and cold drinks, cakes, and a private room for any vulnerable adult on the autism spectrum to talk about anything.

The group would like to give a special thankyou to local photographer Christopher Mear for his workshop on photography, and for his photo of the group in action.

15TH APRIL – SILK PAINTING

The next workshop will be Silk Painting at 2:00pm to 4:30pm, the 15th April at the People Express building in Swadlincote next to Sharpe’s Pottery.

Whilst making your scarf, you can have free cups of tea, coffee and cakes, with a private room for the support group for vulnerable adults on the autism spectrum.

There’s always something to bring home from these meetings!

8TH APRIL – INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY…

Our next workshop will be Introduction to Photography at 2:00pm to 4:30pm on the 8th April at the People Express building in Swadlincote.

Again there will be free cups of tea, coffee, and cakes throughout, and a “quiet” room for the support group for vulnerable adults on the autism spectrum during this time.

There’s room for everyone!

1ST APRIL – PRINTMAKING SESSION…

With a successful first professional session with poetry writing, our next workshop will be printmaking press at the same time of 2:00pm – 4:30pm on the 1st April at the People Express building in Swadlincote.

There will be free cups of tea and cakes throughout, and the support group for vulnerable adults on the auitsm spectrum will run during the last 45 minutes.

25th March 2015 – Our next drop-in session…

After a successful first taster session, SAS will be hosting more drop-in meetups at People Express, Swadlincote from the 25th March 2015, the next session between 2.00pm til 4.00pm.

These will be informal yet professional art workshops taught by successful artists hired thanks to the The Big Lottery Fund.
